The composite team's focus is riding and training for the NorCal High School Cycling League cross country mountain bike racing season that usually begins with practices in December, the race season beginning in February, and ending in May with State Championships. Outside this time period racers compete individually instead of as a high school composite team.
Many of our racers also participate in optional races including Sea Otter Classic, the CCCX MTB series, and other events if scheduling and donations allow. The training varies for individuals depending on fitness and the competitive level desired.
The team has optional information available for racers wanting additional training in the off season, including weight and strength training information and additional base training information. In December the entire team begins practicing, starting with base/endurance training and followed with interval/power training. Throughout the year we also focus on proper rest and recovery, perform volunteer trail work, explore new riding locations, and make sure school and homework are a priority.
We have fun, are courteous to other trail users, completely forbid the use or encouragement of any banned performance enhancing product, and would love to see you on the trails with us.
